turning the corner

well i've managed to eat about a quarter of a chicken breast. i've been off my pain meds most of the day, and my throat really only hurts after i wake up. i'm sleeping for longer amounts of time, so i'm guessing thats why. its kinda crazy the amount i've gotten better over just the last two days, but i've been told thats how it works, once real recovery starts it goes pretty quick. so fingers crossed i won't need to take any meds tomorrow. hopefully i'll be able to actually eat something tomorrow because monday i will be eating tacos, hell or highwater.

there was evil growing in the back of my throat

it was 3:45 in the am. i was working on finishing my bucket of ice chips, watching the coal miners daughter with my mom. trying to work up the never to swallow my medicine. see this medicine is like fire water, so it sometimes takes awhile before i'm keen on taking it. so i was chasing the medicine with some ice chips and cold water when it happened. as i was swallowing the ice it came loose. it lodged itself in my throat and i began to choke. i lunged toward the garbage in front of me. heaving in pain. it felt like i was going to throw up. the worst possible thing that could happen when you have your tonsils out. about the third time i coughed it came out and landed in the trash in front of me. this hard little ball of evil. a scab. a blood clot. and i sat there. starring at it. still thinking that i'm going to throw up. i tossed a tissue over it so i wouldn't have to look at it anymore. it was this alien thing growing inside me. and now its gone. it was about the worst thing i'd ever had to go through.
