Movies I just watched that everyone should see.

Capote
Made me want to read his books. Really great movie. And I will say, as of right now, Phillip Seymour Hoffman can do now wrong. I say "as of right now" because he is in mission impossible 3... and that hasn't come out yet so it doesn't count.
Boogie Nights
Pretty much a movie about the porn industry in the 70's following. It follows Dirk Diggler through his career. Pretty humerous. Very graphic. If you liked Magnolia (another movie I think was very good) watch this one.
Elizabethtown
Not at all what I thought it was going to be. Very funny. Only negative I heard about it was that it was confusing or that there was too much going on, personally I did think it was too bad.
Million Dollar Baby
This one surprised me too. Not the movie I thought I was going to see. Can't even really say I liked it, but I'm really glad I watched it.

i actually have heard don't watch million dollar baby, it's not good and it shouldn't have won so many oscars last year.
if anyone told you that its probably because they have strong moral opposition to what happens in the movie, personally i don't think thats a reason not to watch a movie. as far as million dollar baby goes, still unsure as to whether or not i like it.
i don't regret watching million dollar baby. never heard any praise from anyone about it at all. only negative comments; this made me want to watch it all the more. in the end, i can't say i agree with the message; and i'll never watch it again probably, but i'm glad i watched it.
i'll probably eventually end up seeing it someday, but usually when eric and i go get movies we don't get things like that, we get stupid movies or chick flicks. usually not even chick flicks because eric doesn't like as wide a variety of movies as i do, so we generally get movies that he wants to see. which isn't million dollar baby.
