well i managed to get everything of major importance off of my external, which is actually an internal at this point. stole a jumper from one of my cd drives and tossed it in as a slave drive. now i just have to see if they had a 3 year warranty, thats becoming standard for a hard drive. some manufacturers even go to 5. so we shall see just how that goes. if worse comes to worse, best buy is selling for less than 50ยข a gig.
we got into the laundry soap again last night, well just me and kelly really, the rest just were slightly splattered, casualties of war and what not. we managed to get yelled at by an ra, but that was after it turned into a water fight. now i'm debating whether or not i should stay for class, i don't work in class because by the time you have everything put together and ready to go you have an hour to work before you have to pack up. an hour really is no time at all as far as plaster goes. hmm... mind is almost made up to go, he's taken attendance... ok, i'm going. post later today maybe...
after about oh... a good two years of service my external hard drive decided to crash on me. thats a lot sooner than it should happen so it came a little unexpected. as of right now we've managed to keep it running and are moving things to other peoples computers. not sure how long it will hold out, hopefully long enough to get it all. it should still be under warranty, so i'm getting that sent to me. if i end having to buy a new one it'll run about $120 after rebate, so that would be just about all of the retirement money i have from wickes. oh well. i have to get back to moving things. i'll post the results later if i have time.
that was from the first day of sculpting, mine is on the left, see all that plaster around mine? the other guy i was working with put an equall amount on the walls, and anyone who happened to be passing through... i have a lot more sculpting to do tomorrow, which will probably take up the little if any free time i get on thursdays.
schedule for thursday, feb 24.
11:00 - 2:20 drawing 2:30 - 3:30 Math 4:00 - 5:40 Art History 6:00 - at least 1:00 sculpting
i was given an opportunity to move into the brand new suites that the school is offering next year. origionally i deemed the suites to not be worth the money and that i should just head on to wigen with some of the guys from my floor, most of that decision was made because i knew there was no chance in hell for me to get into the suites. now that the opportunity for me to live in the suites has presented itself i can't bring myself to pass it up. i'll have my own room, a more private bathroom, a living room area and i'll be rooming with some rather entertaining fellows. it'll be like having an apartment with a meal plan. so needless to say i am rather excited. the paperwork will all get worked out tomorrow, it also gets me out of class 40 min early. huzzah and excelsior!
there isn't any problem a crowbar can't solve. i am so tired right now, so i apologize for any confusion in the following post. the roommate sounds like he's going to dying every time he coughs. i really hope he doesn't get me sick. the room smells like clay because i have clay and he keeps the window and door closed at all times. this makes the room a good 80 degrees, which heats up the clay. warm clay stinks. ah, brain just melted, gnight.
so 8 of us decided that we couldn't let all this fresh snow go to waste. at 11 we went to walmart to get ourselves some $3 snow tubes and headed out to the hill. it was pretty fun. me and luke had a pretty nice collision mid hill. i was standing up and just as i looked toward the top of the hill i saw luke about 5 yards in front of me so i jumped which resulted in his forehead catching my knee. the sad thing is i don't think he hurt as much afterward. oh, and fresh snow means more snowboarding. so there will most likely be another post about that. [edit: oh and a fine couple of kids got hitched this weekend, congrats to gina and josh]
so i went snowboarding again. it is so fun. i knew the same group of
people where leaving at 5 again. my class was supposed to get out at
540. so i wasn't planning on going. so when my teacher lost her voice
at 4:55 i was just about as excited as i could be. now i don't run,
i've made it a point to save running for life and death or free food
situations, but i was heading back to my hall as close to running as i
possibly could. i got there just as they were starting to load the
cars, so i got to go. the following car ride was hilarious. the guy i
rode with had just gotten a new clutch and tranny, so it wasn't always
the smoothest ride. but when the last car of the three of us decided he
was going to show off and pass us all resulting in him missing our exit
it became really fun.
now anyone who knows snowboarding would know it hasn't been the best
conditions the last two days. most of the hill is ice. for those of us
who have never gone before, this is a problem, you can't get an edge in
when the mountain is solid. so while i was trying to help jason teach
people how to use the tow rope i realized why he like teaching people
so much. new people fall hard. nothing is funnier seeing someone grab
the tow rope as hard as they can right away. its like seeing someone
dock start on water skis, when they aren't really paying attention. so
after about 30 mins of that me and mike headed for the big hill, and by
big hill i mean the most bad-ass green circle you've ever seen in your
life. for those of you who are wondering, and i'm sure there is at
least one of you, i did knock the wind out of my self once.
once all the fun was done and we had to leave the car i rode in took
off and made the hour 45 min trip in an hour flat. it was quite fun.
played some raven shield when i got back and then sleep.
the last time i went snowboarding i lasted about a half hour, so i
don't think it really counts, but this time was a blast. one of the
guys from my floor was teaching a group of like 4 of us, three first
timers, and one other who was on a board for his second time. it was
pretty easy getting the balance thing down, mastering the turn is the
tricky part. once you can start to get that under control the rest
comes pretty easy. i'm not saying i'm an expert or anything, but i
could go 10 yards with out landing on my ass. its all about the small
victories.
