i can't stand this class. it is very possible that it is just the teacher, i don't remember hating it this much last semester. i get to go hammer some metal tonight, maybe that will make me feel better. or worse depending on if it goes well or not.
idiots with influence must be stopped... but, i will discontinue my posts. those of you who are within earshot, well, you might still have to hear about it.
yes, so, it is pretty much agreed universally that this jack thompson guy is an idiot. but if we were to followup on every idiot when they did something idiotic well then we'd be endlessly occupied and maybe even slightly entertained but our intelligence level would likely drop; so probably best to just let jack thompson be an idiot and forget he exists, despite all the stupid stuff he does to draw attention to himself, cuz if we don't define a cutoff point this could be neverending. soon alan's [our] blog will turn into a continuous jack thompson saga, eww. so i hope, hope, hope, this is the last of the jack thompson posts :P
so it looks like the right thing to do when someone donates $10,000 to charity is call the police on them to have them arrested. or, thats what jack thinks at least.
art history post [not about art history, just when it was made]
i didn't say anything about it when it was announced but i feel that i should. apple is taking the first steps into creating a world of entirely digital media. with the new itunes you can now do video. one click gets you a new music video, a current tv show, or a short film by pixar. now i know it isn't quite there yet but imagine you want to rent a movie, and instead of getting in the car and driving to the store you click a button on your computer and download the movie you want to watch. everything from movies, tv shows, radio shows, books, video games, computer games; all available to you over the internet. some people i know would say its already there, its not too hard to find a movie you want or a tv show you saw somewhere on the internet. like the "never before seen" family guy movie that i saw a month before it was released in stores. soon enough i believe movie theaters will be a thing of the past. tv's are getting bigger and more affordable. computers are getting more and more advanced. music is damn near all digital, i don't see everything else too far behind.
so apparently, jack was just kidding. the $10,000 he dangled in front of charity was just a joke. he never meant for anyone to make his silly little game. that $10,000 was just part of his satire. its a shame he didn't make that more clear, it looks like a few people took him up on it. its a good thing there are people out there to cover your slack jack.
why would it take UPS 3 days to get from california to iowa. thats rediculous. its not even that it traveled for 3 days, it sat in california for 3 days. then up and hightailed it to iowa.
see, now it isn't just the video game industry who knows he's crazy.

All alone On the floor Next to your twin-bed box-spring and mattress The door Is ajar From afar You can hear bands practicing
And When they dream they all Dream of somebody like you Somebody who takes what they make Twice as seriously as they could ever hope to do And when you dream You dream of a day...
When you find something you could love half as much As you love all your little round mirrors See yourself reflected in one, theres a hole in the middle You can't seem to fill
Bring them home Watch them go All you know is you hope they'll hurry back And you cry Then you lie your frail body down Like a penny on a railroad track And even if they stay in touch The past stays in the past But every time You crash a little bit harder than the last And every time you crash don't you
Wanna find something you could love Half as much as you love all your little round mirrors See yourself reflected in one There's a hole in the middle you can't seem to fill
A shooting star is A little piece of Cosmic debree desperately wanting to fall to earth It doesn't get too far It's not a real star It's hardly even worth footnotes in your memoir Shoulder to shoulder Up on our tip-toes Chewing our fingers And craning our necks Just to see Quite the collection Divide by section It's just a surrogate connection leaving you all alone
On the floor next to your twin-bed box-spring and mattress The door Still ajar There you are and now you're coming to stay until
You can find someone who will love you as much As you love all your little round mirrors Murdering your time in cold blood There's a whole in the middle you can't seem to fill
